The TAP wheels have eight small notches, or cams, machined into the axle bore. As these cams rotate on the axle they cause the wheel to vibrate, or tap the score. This will drive the score up 20 percent deeper into the glass surface resulting in smooth cuts with less flaring. The TAP wheels also require less pressure on the cutter which means less fatigue with regular use.
